OLD GLORY

Sheriff Octavia Johnson attended the Beltone Flag Raising Ceremony with her great nieces: Tyanna and Keondra McKinney. The ceremony was held 10:00 AM, July 3 at the Beltone office located at 581 and Elm Avenue. The flag will be flown 24 hours a day and lighted through the night. Senator John Edwards gave an eloquent speech on the history of the American flag. Other dignitaries in attendance were; Senator Ralph Smith, Delegate Morgan Griffith, Mayor David Bowers and Bill Cleveland, Republican candidate for the House of Delegates.
